My little challenge i set for myself has been going so-so, I did manange to catch a small mouth bass while on vacation in Maine.

A black crappie was the fish i caught from a boat or canoe in gorton pond.


And i did make it over to browning mill but did not catch anything.

3 outta 15 10 months left.

Lets see if i can do this in a year?

TriggerX .. my first soft plastic catch.

I caught a bass at gorton pond today on a TriggerX soft plastic minnow. This is the first time i have caught a bass on a soft plastic bait. What i can't believe though is i was trying a lot of different methods,spinners,buzz baits, a texas rigged senko, and I caught this thing on my third or fourth cast in the same area i was all along. They claim to trigger the bite. I wish it was about 4 to 5 pounds heavier though.

So i went back to the Hunt River today and got two, one rainbow and one small brown. I caught the rainbow on a swedish pimple. Good day

Opening Day 2010

So i went out opening day just to say yes i went out opening day. I went out real quick and fast just to try and see if the trout were in a spot along the hunt river. Ive tried this spot before with no luck but i have heard of people catching trout here. Well again nothing to catch here, no breaks, no swells, no bugs, nothing!



Now i know that there was a news report that there would be no stocking at some rivers due to the flooding but hunt was on the list. maybe i have a high pressure spot that i go to. I will try again tomorrow,somewhere different. I really only wanted trout season here to fish a certin pond that is supposed to hold monster bass. If i catch a monster from this place this i will be sure to post it here! I am going to post some goals for my 2010 fishing journey in a few days! The new puppy loved the water though!

I did hear of of large amounts of trout being caught at barbers pond. That pond was one of the "extra" stocked ponds.

Ice Fishing Wordens Pond S.K. R.I.

I went ice Fishing for the first time at Wordens Pond in South Kingston, Rhode Island. It was quite fun and rather funny to see the amount of people out on this pond,from the extreme with 4 wheelers, ice augers, shelters and dozens of tip ups,to the basics of a bucket,sled,and a chisel. I was part of the later, and enjoyed every minute of it. I was told it was a "slow" day we pulled up 3 perch.Overall a good day in my book! I never caught a Perch before so now i can say i did and i took it up through the ice on Wordens Pond.
